My brother Abbas has been killed

Oh Abbas when your alam is risen and passes us by

We remember you and to get water for binte Hussain how hard you did try

On ashura this alam fell but we promise forever we will hold it high

’till our death and in our graves even when we are risen when we hear your name we will cry

When we want our wishes fulfilled Ya bab al Hawaaj we ask but we feel very shy

For we ask with our hands to the one whose hands were severed from his side

Ya Abbas as if this was not enough they pierced an arrow through your eye

Ya Abbas when you fell to the ground and the alam fell Sakina started to weep and cry

When you called your master as he ran he saw the first and then the other severed hand

He saw them lying on the ground  lying in the hot hot sand,

Each step he took more and more pain

Hearing you say Adrikini Ya Hussien Adrikini Ya Hussien

As he approached ,you said Oh Mawla do not take me back ,for to get the children water i did fail

Oh Abbas what will happen to Zainab, Sukaina will be slapped and and they will be stripped of thier veil

Hussien sees you on the ground and lifeless your body does lay

Hussiens hears not a sound and This is when Hussien does say

Looking towards Najaf his eyes with dry tears filled.

My back is broken My back is broken My Brother Abbas has been killed
